Hi everyone – here’s the schedule for February!
It’s been a long year, and February is a short month, but there are still plenty of events at the shop and all over the city where you can meet and be in community with other likeminded activists. I recommend joining one of Adobe Bookshop’s weekly AIAC (Anti-Imperialist Action Coalition) meetings on Thursdays at 5pm, or checking out the solidarity film screenings at Syzygy SF.
Let’s remember the eternal wisdom from George Jackson, “Settle your quarrels,” he insisted. “Come together, understand the reality of our situation, understand that fascism is already here, that people are already dying who could be saved, that generations more will die or live poor butchered half-lives if you fail to act.” (quoted also within this great article on BostonReview)

Monday, Feb. 9 @ 6:30pm: Babes Who Book! This is the first February meeting. Babes Who Book is an informal book club where we will share what we have been reading lately. Please make an effort to be on-time if you’d like to share your reading activity so that you can sign up and be on the list to speak as it is structured like an open mic. Sharing is optional and you are more than welcome to hang out and listen to get recommendations. Attendees receive 10% off all books, graphic novels and manga.
Tuesday, Feb. 10 @ 7pm: Manga Book Club – Love Bullet vol.1! Join us for an exciting discussion on the new yuri manga series, Love Bullet!
Wednesday, Feb. 11 @ 6:00pm: Poetry Workshop – All Levels! No experience necessary, please bring your own notebooks, pens/pencils and RSVP on Eventbrite. Please also prepare to tip the teacher as they come in to facilitate this workshop of their own time and effort.
Saturday, Feb. 14 @ 1-4pm: Letter Writing with Flying Over Walls, Bay Area. They will be joining us from 1-4pm so come on down and write a birthday card to one of our queer/trans incarcerated comrades! (supplies provided)
Weds., Feb. 18 @ 6-9:00pm: Lunar New Year Party & Dual Signing with Poison Ivy Cover Artist Jessica Fong and Graphic Novelist Rina Ayuyang! I am SO EXCITED to announce another fantastic event with our friend Jessica Fong AND also Rina Ayuyang who has written/illustrated Blame it on the Boogie, The Man in the McIntosh Suit and the new Eraserheads comic by our friends Lumpia with a Vengeance!
