Here we go again… the holiGAYS are upon us once more! Obviously we have a bunch of amazing gifts you can come in and peruse for your friends/family/etc – you already knew that 😉 But did you know that we’ll also ship them out for you if you need (domestic) shipping before the holidays? Starting at just $10 shipping & handling, we will send any books/comics/etc that you buy from us – and we can even wrap it!
We will be shipping out on: Dec. 2, 9, & 16 to arrive before Christmas. If you’d like us to ship your gifts, please leave your packages with us a day before one of these ship-dates in order to make the shipment. (So you can buy your gifts on Monday Dec. 1 during our normal holiday hours and then leave them with the desired address, and we will ship it out the next day!)

Tues., Dec. 9 @ 7:00pm: MANGA BOOK CLUB: Look Back. We will be discussing Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Look Back AND choosing the next 3-6 books for next year’s manga book club picks.
Weds., Dec. 10 @ 6:00pm: Poetry Workshop – All Levels! This event is another great workshop by our friend Alice and while it is free/NOTAFLOF, please consider tipping them for their hard work. Please RSVP on Eventbrite.
Saturday, Dec. 13 @ 1-4pm: Letter Writing with Flying Over Walls, Bay Area. They will be joining us from 1-4pm so come on down and write a birthday card to one of our queer/trans incarcerated comrades! (supplies provided)
Sunday, Dec. 14 @ 12-5pm: Holiday Thrift Pop-Up with La Tienda SF! A local thrifting/vintage pop-up La Tienda will be popping up in our space to sell some super cute threads – come on by and check it out! There will be many good deals to be had! And we have 2 fitting rooms so you can even try things on right here in the shop. Be sure to follow latienda_sf on instagram and tiktok to see sneak peeks of clothing that will be for sale!

Saturday, Dec. 27 @ 1-4pm: CANCEL IT! Party & Fundraiser, bake sale and info sesh on alternatives and support with cancelling your evil subscription plans – spotify & amazon are the primary targets. Let’s talk about why they are evil, why we are calling for a boycott and what can we use instead! PLEASE BRING CASH – funds for anti-ice protestors are collected at the door but for obvious reasons we cannot take card and venmo/zelle are discouraged.
Weds., Dec. 31 @ 5-7pm: Reclaim Your Attention Span! This will be a shut-up-and-write/draw/read as well as rediscover and repair your attention span in the age of short-form video content. How do we ignore the daily bombardment of instagram reels/tiktok as well as the everpresent need to be “available” via text and social media? How do we set boundaries for others and for ourselves in a world where it is demanded of us to present a version to the world via these social media apps? Can we REJECT big Tech’s influence over us altogether? Let’s go into the new year with at least some aspirations to loosen tech’s chokehold on our lives and the perception of our human selves.
