We are deeply saddened by the loss of neighborhood comic shop Silver Sprocket. It is terrible to lose a queer space in the mission, especially one that meant so much to us all. Please support our friends Josh and Sol during this difficult time by donating a few bucks to their gofundme.
As a reminder, the scrappy queer spaces you know and love in this city are all operating on shoestring budgets, often dealing with greedy landlords and increasing wholesale prices due to tariffs, gas prices, etc. Many of us running these spaces are doing so at our own expense and because we are passionate about being here. Sour Cherry is no exception and while we have about a year and a half left on our lease, we don’t know what the future holds past that. If you want to help contribute to our long-term stability (and get free books!) please consider subscribing to our Patreon.

Weds., April 8 @ 6:00pm: RECLAIM YOUR ATTENTION SPAN (series) SRT aka Silent Reading Time. Bring a book, hang out and read. About an hour in we’ll take a brief break and go around and share what we read.
Saturday, April 11 @ 1-4pm: Letter Writing with Flying Over Walls, Bay Area. They will be joining us from 1-4pm so come on down and write a birthday card to one of our queer/trans incarcerated comrades! (supplies provided)
Monday, April 13 @ 6:30pm: Babes Who Book! This is the first April meeting. Babes Who Book is an informal book club where we will share what we have been reading lately. Please make an effort to be on-time if you’d like to share your reading activity so that you can sign up and be on the list to speak as it is structured like an open mic. Sharing is optional and you are more than welcome to hang out and listen to get recommendations. Attendees receive 10% off all books, graphic novels and manga.

Wednesday, April 15 @ 6:00pm: Beads 4 Pal! We will be making bracelets, keychains, and other beaded accessories to sell in the shop to raise money for our friends in Gaza (more info on the families we are helping at this link) Please RSVP on Eventbrite as space is limited!
