Sat., Feb. 8 @ 1-4pm: Letter Writing with Flying Over Walls, Bay Area. They will be joining us from 1-4pm so come on down and write a birthday card to one of our queer/trans incarcerated comrades! (supplies provided) – be sure to also check out the graphic novels, zines, and books from A.B.O Comix! ABO Comix is a publisher that works with incarcerated queer/trans comrades and produces their art, writings, etc – all profits go to supporting the prisoners. Read more here.
Mon., Feb. 10 @ 6:30pm: Babes Who Book! This is the first January Babes Who Book, the second will be Feb. 24. Attendees get 10% off books/graphic novels! Tell us about what you’re reading, or what you’re excited about reading.. !
Weds., Feb. 12 @ 6:00pm: GALENTINE’S BEADS 4 PAL! This is a crafty event! Do you like bead making? Making bead bracelets and necklaces? Do you enjoy crafting for a cause? Join us on Weds., Feb. 12 to make bead necklaces and bracelets to sell in order to raise funds for our friends and families in Gaza who are trying to rebuild their lives after devastation. There is an Eventbrite page but you do not have to RSVP. Materials are included but feel free to bring your own if you’d like!
Friday, Feb. 14 @ 5-7pm: Instax Photobooth & Love Letter Writing! Here’s a fun two-for-one for your Valentine’s Day interest: Join the love letter writing workshop (a structured writing exercises to write letters to your past, present & future selves as well as loved ones) and take some instax polaroids that you can add to your letters! A ticket ($15) can be purchased in-store at the time of the event and will provide: Stationary (2 cute letters & envelopes) and one instax polaroid. Special edition Sour Cherry instax frames (as well as other frame designs) will be available for purchase separately, provided by Koii at Angl, inventor of these very cute, very innovative foldable instax frame design! Sunday, Feb. 16 @ 2:30pm: Encyclopedia of Radical Helping book event and community discussion. Let’s talk about community resilience, mutual aid, and ways we can get and STAY involved in these radical projects to help one another! RSVP not required, please feel free to show up. Books will be available for purchase.
Tuesday, Feb. 18 @ 6:00pm: MANGA BOOK CLUB! Discussion on Inside Mari vol. 1. There is an eventbrite page but no need to rsvp. Due to reprinting delays from Denpa publishing we are unable to procure more physical copies of Inside Mari vol. 1 and we recommend checking your local library and web sources.
