Well well well… another month has arrived. Mostly the typical monthly events, plus a couple extras. Oh, and a new thing we started doing every week (!!) if you use instagram, make sure you follow us (sourcherrycomics) and keep an eye out for our comics giveaway post! It’s a weekly game where we give a WHOLE WALL OF COMICS to one lucky winner! We post the wall on Monday and you have all day Monday, Tuesday and usually Wednesday morning to enter. All you have to do is: 1. be following us, 2.) like & comment 3.) share the post in your stories! So if you’re using instagram and you’re local, be sure to keep an eye out for that!

Saturday, August 10 @ 1-4 pm: Letter Writing with Flying Over Walls, Bay Area. They will be joining us from 1-4pm so come on down and write a birthday card to one of our queer/trans incarcerated comrades! (supplies provided) – be sure to also check out the graphic novels, zines, and books from A.B.O Comix! ABO Comix is a publisher that works with incarcerated queer/trans comrades and produces their art, writings, etc – all profits go to supporting the prisoners. Read more here.

Tuesday, August 20 @ 6:00 pm: MANGA BOOK CLUB Mob Psycho Vol. 1! Come by and hang out / chat about our fave ESP-er: Mob! There is an eventbrite page if you feel inclined to let us know you’re coming ahead of time, and you can register using this link.
Wednesday, August 21 @ 6:00 pm: Collaborative zine-making with the Mission Mini Comix crew or draw jam! Whatever suits your artistic fancy. Sign up available on Eventbrite.
Friday, August 23 @ 3-8:00 pm: SLAPZ 4 PAL! We make + sell SLAPZ in store to raise funds for Palestinians in need and this event is an all-in mutual aid event for artists to lend their artistic skills to this cause! For more information about the campaigns we are supporting, please check out our last post, MUTUAL AID 4 GAZA. *** Ticketing information: There are 15 FREE tickets available and 10 DONATION tickets available. Eventbrite limits the capacity for event organizers to post for free to 25 total. There will be SLAPZ stickers available for decoration as well as some markers/paint pens/sharpies BUT! If you have your own, please bring them! (Especially if you have your own art utensils – we have a very limited amount available.) Additionally, Please register on Eventbrite as space is limited.
