Happy to say goodbye to 2024? So are we. Thankfully, it is over. What can we say about the new year? It’s only just begun. Remember: we only have each other. Let’s take a look at the free events we are offering in the shop this month:
Obviously we are very excited about the art show at the end of the month – if you are a local artist and you’d like your work featured on the walls, you can sign up on this spreadsheet. Please be sure to drop off by the deadline (Jan. 20) and when you are dropping off, provide your artist tags (a small piece of paper that includes the price/name of your work, and any artist information you want to provide).
Please also note that we have slightly different hours for the months of January, February and March. We will be CLOSED on Thursdays as well as Tuesdays, and have more limited hours on Sunday (2-5:30). Our hours page on this website are updated and so is the google listing.
Thursday, Jan. 2 @ 6:00pm: Queer Craft/DIY night! Please sign up on Eventbrite to secure your spot.
Saturday, Jan. 11 @ 1-4pm: Letter Writing with Flying Over Walls, Bay Area. They will be joining us from 1-4pm so come on down and write a birthday card to one of our queer/trans incarcerated comrades! (supplies provided) – be sure to also check out the graphic novels, zines, and books from A.B.O Comix! ABO Comix is a publisher that works with incarcerated queer/trans comrades and produces their art, writings, etc – all profits go to supporting the prisoners. Read more here.
Monday, Jan. 13 @ 6:30pm: Babes Who Book! This is the first January Babes Who Book, the second will be Jan. 27. Attendees get 10% off books/graphic novels! Tell us about what you’re reading, or what you’re excited about reading.. !
Wednesday, Jan. 22 @ 5-8pm: GAY GUNDAM NIGHT! Bring your own gunpla. Please register on Eventbrite as space is limited.
Saturday, Jan. 25 @ 6-9pm: Opening reception for our HELLO, 2025 art show! We will be celebrating ALL NEW art on the walls and a pop-up with local artists selling their zines, prints, stickers and more. Please join us to celebrate all of the amazing new art in the space and all the hard work everyone has done to create it!
