Hello everyone! I’ll get right to it: We have had a BAD year. Sales were down significantly from 2022 and costs went up as we hired employees, and costs of goods did not go down. In fact, with inflation, costs of books have mostly increased.
We hear all the time when people come in that you LOVE our store! That we have a great selection, that you love to come to our events. And trust me, we love to hear that! But compliments don’t pay the bills. If you love the store and you want us to stick around we need your help! There are so many ways to do this – you can keep us in mind for your holiday shopping, for one. Or you can keep us in mind when you want to read a new book/graphic novel!
If money is an issue, remember we have an amazing selection of SALE books and comics in various places throughout the store. We also want to show you our favorite single issue comics – which start at $3.99!!! That’s less than a coffee. And if you pay in cash for any purchases you make, you’d be helping us out even more! (Credit card fees are no joke! Please avoid using credit/debit cards or apple pay for purchases under $10!! Seriously can’t stress this enough.)
Another way you can help is by checking us out on PATREON! We have a few tier levels to check out – they start at $8! All tiers include internet access and “up for grabs” books (that’s up to 2 free books per month! and sometimes more!) Another fun perk of patreon membership is seasonal discounts and event promotions!
Closing out the year, we would love to make enough to cover rent for January / February which are likely to be financially dire as people tend to spend less overall. We appreciate your continued support and hope to see you soon!
